This blog is my spiritual journey.  It’s a place where I want to pour out my love and devotion to my Savior.  I will share inspirations from the Bible, Christian music, and world events.

I will share my life stories because God has given me many roles as a woman: a married and divorced teenager (at 18 — what was I thinking?), a public school teacher, a writer, a friend, a mentor, a Sunday School teacher, a church music director, a happily married wife (almost 25 years now),  an infertility patient (with a short detour down the road of artificial insemination), the impatient mother waiting for the adoption of three great kids (two boys and a girl — I’ll tell you about them),  a person who nearly lost her mind and her faith (but was rescued by the love of a loyal family and a faithful God), and a chronic pain patient.

More than any other role, however, I am first and foremost a sinner, saved by grace and Loved By The King. Yep, LBTK!  It’s a line from the Chris Tomlin song “How Can I Keep from Singing:”  I know I am loved by the King and it makes my heart want to sing!

Although this is my journey, there is more than enough room for anyone who wants to walk along with meWon’t you join me?    “Seek His will in all you do and He will show you the path to take.”  Proverbs 3:6 NLT

  1. Hi Sandy!

I just sent you a reply on my blog, but I’m not sure if I did it right. 🙂 Anyway, I just added a page to my blog where you can order an autographed copy of my children’s book. Thanks so much for making me feel special. I am SO honored that you would want to buy my book for your granddaughter!

    Thank you,
    Lori Schulz

  2. Hi Sandy!

Thanks again for the “Beautiful Blogger Award!” I guess I’m not supposed to give it right back to you so I’m giving you the “Versatile Blogger Award,” which you also deserve!

    Blessings to you!

  3. Hi Sandy! It is so amazing to read a little about you as well as your post. Reading the story about your husband really touched my heart and I was saying to myself that I wish I could do something to help you and your family. As I scrolled down the post I noticed that you are in NC. Fayetteville to be exact. So am I!! Lol. I have been here since 2000 ( PCS to Fort Bragg though in retired status now ) and attend a local church in the area.

Please know that if you ever need anything or would just like to meet, please feel free to contact me and we can meet up. My email is on my page but I’ll list it here just as well. It’s terrasiphone@gmail.com

God bless you and yours. I will be praying for you all.

    1. You wouldn’t be related to Michelle Newsome or Keith Newsome would you? Michelle graduated with me from high school and her husband is a pastor. I would love to meet you sometime!

  4. No I don’t know either one of them. Newsome is my married name ( of course ) …my husband does not have family here. I look forward to meeting you too! Just contact me at your leisure and we can set something up! I look forward to it. 🙂

  5. Hey Sandy, I just wanted to drop a line and let you know how appreciative I am of your encouraging words over at my blog. You have been used by the Lord to point me to him through your comments. Sincere thanks! He is good!

    1. I love your blog. I have been a Christian for 40 years but I feel I have been maturing for only the last six years or so. You teach me so much! I keep you in my prayers. You always seem to deliver a timely word for me. Sandy

    1. Thank you Diane. I try to be versatile in what I write. And honest. It’s the only way to write, really. Many, many thanks, Sandy

  6. Sandy, It seems like almost a repeat performance..lol but I have nominated you for the Readers Appreciation Award..I really appreciate your comments…btw even though I had thought I was following you and it showed I was …I haven’t been getting notified of new posts…so I pressed unfollow and then ‘follow’ again to see if it works this time…Diane

  7. Hello Sandy! I look forward to really diving into your blog. Also, thank you for following my blog at Faith1st Ministry. I hope it has and will continue to be a major blessing in your life. 1. I am honored to have you! It’s wonderful to find support from many people across the blogosphere. I am looking forward to reading what you share as well. Sandy

  8. Sandy, I was going over my accounts and who I was missing and i knew it was YOU!
How are you? Hadn’t heard from you in a while. Always loved hearing from you because I thought we were on the same wavelength-but if not tell me!
and maybe you are just too busy but let me know ok?

    1. Lots of grief since Jan. 3 people close to me died. I have taken a break from the blog but am planning to start again on 4/1. I needed to really give myself to God these 3 months. It’s done me a world of good. Thanks for asking and caring.

      1. Sandy I am so sorry. I had a little stroke on the 15th so I am struggling too and if you read what I just posted and find out what I found out, I’d love to know what you think about it.

    1. It moved me. I’ve lost three friends with whom I was so close in the first three months of 2013. And yesterday, I attended the funeral of a relative. Your poem was just the thing I needed this morning. What you will find out about me is that I try to bring my world to the blog readers. I am human and I make lots of mistakes. I struggle with something every single day. I am honored that you want to read about me — some days may be spectacular, but probably most will just be thoughts or events that we, as Christians — and especially as women — share. Thanks for the kind words! Sandy

  9. Hi Sandy, Thanks for visiting my blog! I’ve been meaning to write a comment for a long time. Your about page is really encouraging to me! I’ve also been on the infertility road and we are thinking about adoption…it’s a difficult path sometimes. I’d be interesting in reading more about your experiences with adoption sometime.

  10. I appreciate reading your “About” page – and am intrigued enough that I can hardly wait to explore more of your stories. We have several things in common. I have 4 adopted grandchildren. I love poetry. I love the Lord and I love writing about the many ways my God has saved me and the Holy Spirit has guided me. I think we’d be fast friends if we met face-to-face. God has blessed us both with a strong faith and an attitude of gratitude. Come visit me at JanBeek! I’ll be back here to read more of your blog posts 🙂

  11. I randomly came across this page (while researching carb cycling apps) and am loving it so far! I see you took some time off from writing, but have started up again. Looks like I came at just the right time! Thank you so much and I will be checking back regularily!

    1. Oh, Ashley, I am glad you found me too. Like the tag line says, I write through a sinner’s perspective saved by grace. Without Him I am nothing. I must admit though that I am having to start my carb cycling over. I had a knee surgery last year that kept me from exercising. People can say all day long you can lose weight without exercise, but I cannot. Once I couldn’t exercise, I started gaining. Then I cut the carbs to bare minimum and could barely function. But I refuse to simply give up and get fat. So I’m plugging away at it again.

  12. I think God directed me to your page. I also started the ICL course some years ago and never finished. I googled the course materials and stumbled across you. I am 32 and completely disabled with narcolepsy, Reflex sympathetic dystrophy, and scoliosis. I also have been saying I needed to get back in church. May I ask what your chronic pain is from? Oh and I also have 2 kids a 10 year old little girl, and my little suprise lol a 7 month old little boy. Its amazing to find someone so similar.

I'd love to read what you have to share!
